Build the House

Careers

JAVAHouse is growing. We are looking for editors, designers, and artists who want to help build it.

How We Work

Freelance today,
a full house tomorrow

Right now, JAVAHouse works with professional freelancers on a per-project basis. As the catalog grows, we are building toward an in-house editorial and design team, and the people who help us get there will be the first we call.

There are no open postings at this moment. This page is our standing list. Tell us what you do, and when a project fits your craft, we will reach out directly.

What We Look For
  • Genre fluency. You read Fantasy and Horror and understand what readers of each expect.
  • Care for the work. You treat an author’s voice as something to protect, not overwrite.
  • Reliability. Small presses run on deadlines kept and messages answered.
  • Remote-ready. All roles are remote. We are based in Mobile, Alabama.
